Radio Equipment Directive (RED)
On 1 August 2025, the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) will change. What does this mean for your organization?
More and more products are becoming ‘smart’, from refrigerators to lamps and doorbells. These devices communicate with each other or with the internet via wireless data communication. The European RED directive applies to such devices and will soon be expanded with cybersecurity requirements. You can start preparing for this now. The new RED
Is the new Radio Equipment Directive (RED) applicable to your organization?
Are you a manufacturer, importer or seller of devices classified as ‘radio equipment’? This includes all equipment with a built-in transmitter or receiver that uses the radio spectrum.
You may already need to comply with the current European RED directive. Starting 1 August 2025, this directive will be expanded to include cybersecurity requirements.

CCV Pentest Certification Mark
To ensure that pentest providers deliver high-quality work, the Dutch Centre for Crime Prevention and Safety (CCV) has developed the Pentest Certification Mark. Kiwa contributed to its development and has been designated by CCV as an independent body for the evaluation and certification of this scheme.
ISO 27701 Certification Privacy Management System
ISO/IEC 27701 – an extension of the ISO 27001 standard – contains specific management measures for the protection of privacy-sensitive information. Based on ISO 27701, organisations that already work with an Information Security Management System can upgrade their system to a Privacy Information Management System.
