To be allowed to fly as a pilot you must hold a license as well as be medically fit. The Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate has outsourced the issuing of these licenses to Kiwa Register. A license will be issued by Kiwa Register if you meet a number of conditions, mainly in the field of education and experience.
About Kiwa Register
The Kiwa business unit Kiwa Register dates from 2010 and is the result of the relocation of the majority of the Transport & Water Management Inspectorate organization that was involved in licensing tasks. Every year, Kiwa Register issues over 100 thousand permits, licences and qualifications on behalf of the Dutch minister of Infrastructure and Water Management to professionals and organizations in aviation, shipping and passenger and freight transport by road. Within aviation, Kiwa Register is involved in licenses for pilots, maintenance technicians and air traffic control.
