Job Summary
PPI Quality & Engineering is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry. We are expanding our Quality Control team and are looking for an experienced Floor Inspector to support a major Pipe Mill project in Thisvi, Greece. The position is part of a project currently planned for approximately 6 months, with the initial assignment planned for the end of October.About the role
IMPORTANT: Candidates living locally or in the surrounding area of Thisvi, Greece, will be given priority.
A valid European Union work visa / authorization to work in the EU is mandatory for this position.
In this role, you will act as a key quality representative throughout the pipe manufacturing process, performing and witnessing inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance with API 5L, project specifications, applicable industry standards, and PPI Quality & Engineering procedures.
You will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting manufacturing activities, including:
• Plate receipt, storage and cleaning
• Port loadout activities
• Edge milling, crimping and JCO forming
• Tack welding and inside/outside welding
• Inspection and testing activities, including UT and X-Ray
• Dimensional inspection
• Final product inspection and release
• Verification of inspection and testing results against applicable requirements
• Supporting accurate and timely quality documentation and reporting
• Communicating inspection findings and results to project coordinators and relevant stakeholders
• Promoting safe working practices and maintaining a strong quality culture throughout the manufacturing process
Do you have what it takes?
This position is ideal for a detail-driven and experienced inspection professional with:
• Proven experience as a Source Inspector / Pipe Mill Inspector
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with API 5L (Mandatory)
• Experience in pipe manufacturing and fabrication environments
• Good understanding of welding processes and inspection requirements
• Experience with UT, X-Ray and dimensional inspection
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and accountability
• Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with suppliers, inspectors and project stakeholders
• Commitment to safe working practices and operational excellence
