Job Summary
PPI Quality & Engineering is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry, and is seeking a Supplier Quality Coordinator who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing supplier quality activities across multiple project disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. This role partners closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams to define surveillance requirements, support supplier engagement, and drive quality performance throughout the procurement lifecycle. The position plays a critical role in evaluating technical documentation, supporting pre- and post-award supplier activities, and providing direction to Supplier Quality Representatives (SQRs) during surveillance assignments. The Coordinator monitors supplier performance, investigates quality issues, ensures accurate reporting and data integrity, and communicates risks or nonconformances to key stakeholders.About the role
Coordinate and align Supplier Quality activities across multiple project disciplines
Evaluates material requisitions and technical specifications for compliance with quality requirements, and collaborates with Engineering to define appropriate surveillance levels, including the establishment of witness and hold points.
Engages in pre-award and post-award meetings with suppliers to review Supplier Quality’s access rights, shipment release authority, and notification protocols for witness and hold points during surveillance activities.
Prepares surveillance assignment packages and provides project direction to Supplier Quality Representatives executing surveillance assignments for the project
Investigate quality issues reported to the Supplier Quality Manager on equipment/materials where quality surveillance has been performed.
Review, edit and distribute reports in accordance with the SQE Manual and Project Procedures.
Routinely verify the accuracy of anomaly codes and assignment data transferred from Quality Surveillance Reports into SAM, and implement corrections as needed.
Contribute to bidder pre-award and post-award activities by leveraging SAM metric reports to support SQRs in identifying and addressing known supplier issues during pre-fabrication meetings.
Notify the PSQS, PPM and responsible project personnel of any significant problems and initiate timely follow-up
Monitor and manage job hour and monetary budgets and initiate trends when any overrun is foreseen or experienced
Provide supplier submittal document registers to Service Quality Representative's when requested or on a managed regular basis
Performs specific Supplier Quality related activities assigned by the Project Procurement Manager and Supply Chain Manager
Promote effective cross-disciplinary communication between on-site and off-site project personnel; provide clear direction to assigned Supplier Quality Representatives and ensure coordination across project teams.
Do you have what it takes?
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred but not essential
Minimum 5 year of relevant industry experience in supply chain & project management including inspection and testing activities.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Extensive prior experience in a Quality Lead role with major commodities typically procured for large scale EPC/EPCM projects, recognized codes and standards, manufacturing methods
Extensive experience in writing technical procedures and problem solving
Experience in the fundamentals of supply chain, welding, surface treatment, non-destructive testing, functional testing, material management
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Previously performed project Supplier Quality activities containing a moderate degree of complexity, e.g., preparation of detailed inspection plans for use on complete or uniquely designed systems; preparation of full scope man-hour and budget estimates for proposed intermediate-sized projects; review of complex technical specifications; or the establishment of project corrective action(s) to resolve nonconformances that have a significant impact on project cost/schedule
Strong communication skills whilst providing guidance and monitoring activities for other Supplier Quality Representatives and non-technical support staff as assigned
Participation as an audit team member or technical resource for quality program audits
Basic supervisory skills to monitor the administrative and technical performance of Third-Party Agency quality surveillance contractor personnel to assure that Corporate Supplier Quality Manual and Procedures and quality surveillance assignment instructions are implemented
Previous in-shop quality surveillance or related experience with equipment or materials common to the EPC marketplace
