Job Summary

Kiwa UK is seeking a Client Executive – Medical Devices (ISO 13485) to join their team based in Dunstable. In this role, you'll coordinate and administer medical device certification activities in line with ISO 13485, applicable medical device regulations and accreditation requirements. You'll act as the primary liaison between clients and internal technical and audit teams, supporting compliance, client satisfaction and operational effectiveness throughout the certification lifecycle. NQA provides accredited certification, training and support services to help customers improve processes, performance and products and services. We have issued over 50,000 certificates to clients in over 90 countries resulting in a yearly revenue of around 100 million Euro. NQA was acquired by Kiwa in 2024, a global leader in the Testing, Inspecting and Certification (TIC) sector, based in the Netherlands.

About the role

  • Coordinate end-to-end ISO 13485 certification activities in line with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Review and validate client applications, scope, and technical documentation to confirm regulatory alignment.
  • Assign and coordinate audit programs, ensuring appropriate technical competence and timely progression to certification decision.
  • Conduct and support technical file reviews, including management of nonconformities and certification recommendations.
  • Act as the primary client contact for certification, regulatory, and audit-related matters.
  • Maintain certification records and ensure traceability, confidentiality, impartiality, and compliance.
  • Identify and manage risks related to scope, regulatory classification, and conflicts of interest.
  • Support internal, accreditation, and third-party audits.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of certification processes and operational performance.
  • Develop toward certification decision-maker qualification through training and coaching.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience in the medical device industry or related technical, quality or regulatory roles.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and medical device management systems (ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14971 desirable).
  • Experience within a certification body or regulated industry environment.
  • Proven experience in client management.
  • Degree/Higher Education qualification in business administration, life sciences, engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professional integrity and reliability.
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings and professional development opportunities.
